A obscure Hampton cafe is about to go global, writes Annabel Ross.
F OR a cafe holder, it's a little like getting a chef's hat. Last year, famed Melbourne coffee aficionado Steve Agi, named Hampton's Espresso Elements in his top five coffees in Melbourne - no portend feat for a place that had been open just 18 months. One year on, owners Callum Power and Screw Chandler felt the time was ripe for expansion and last week opened a substitute Espresso Elements cafe - in Belfast.
The franchise has been bought by Irishman Kevin Johnson, a former accountant who met Power while holidaying in Melbourne three years ago. Impressed with Power's subject plan and conscious of the gap in the British market, the seed for the Belfast cafe was planted.
''We're working on fascinating over Belfast and the UK with coffee,'' Power says. He and Chandler will dissipate two weeks helping Johnson launch the cafe.
The Irish incarnation will be a represent image of the Hampton cafe - a triangular, light-filled room with huge windows, dark wood benchtops and copious room to inspect the array of coffee machines on flourish. My little stovetop espresso maker falls through the grate of the new stove?
I righteous moved to a new place, and my stovetop espresso maker doesn't fit the new gas stove -- the scratch is too large for the espresso maker to balance over the flame.
I've seen a solution in Germany, a metal interpose or adapter that fits over center of the existing grate to play-act it smaller.
Has anyone seen anything like that for sale, or is there some other clever unravelling?
I have a set from J.C. Penney. They're on transaction now on their internet site if you're in the U.S. They're called Even-Heat burner plates and are currently $14.95 for a set of two. If you're not in the U.S., maybe Penney's can put you in close to with a company in your area...I've found their customer service to be very good.

P.S. They have lots of other uses, too, due to their ability to spread the eagerness...I use them all the time. As a bonus, food no longer falls between the coils!

I have a stovetop espresso maker, but I neediness to use it to brew one to two cups of coffee with my "regular" coffee beans. I don't desire to use my big electric coffee maker to make a cup of coffee.

Cafe Cubano (Cuban Coffee)

The old-fashioned way to make café cubano is in a pot on the stove, though the reality is that Cubans in this country often make their coffee in Italian espresso makers. The tutorial below will use a Stovetop Espresso pot.

If done duly (and yes … it does take practice and a special touch), the sugar paste will dream up a “foam” once it is mixed with the rest of the coffee. Run into tacitas or demitasse cups … and shoot! Cafe con Leche (Cuban Coffee with Exploit) Café cubano’s quieter cousin, café con leche should be called leche con café for it deep down is milk with coffee. A steaming cup of this sweet, comforting potion served with toasted bread or cuban crackers is a run-of-the-mill Cuban breakfast. Heat milk in a pot. Café con leche is usually made with whole out, or a mixture of whole and evaporated milk, but any milk will do – dare I say, even soy. Ill-starred Abuelita (Dear Grandmother)!. Pour the hot milk in a mug, stuffing it almost to the top. Throw in a tacita of café cubano and stir. Sit back, pop in the Buena Vista Common Club CD and feel the warm Gulf breeze.The Process
