Kitchenaid Food Processor - Blade removal difficult?
I was allowed a rarely used Kitchenaid Food Processor recently -- looks new -- works prominent. About 12 years old.
Problem: The main, large, cutting edge removal is very difficult.
I've had to place it on the floor, and tug and wiggle to get this aspect off.
Hardly any leverage in yanking this thing out.
This becomes a problem, as house-moving of bowl requires removal of blade first.
It is a plastic to inexperienced connection (plastic-like material)
The blade (inexperienced body/ steel blade), slides over the plastic beam.
I've attempted WD40, and a silicone lubricant, after attempting to finely send in shaft (not very agressively).
- Have you experienced this with your KitchenAid ?
- How have you (or how should I) fix this ?
I got thru this holiday season without the processor, however, I occupied it the other night to chop/blend a cinnamon/walnut/sugar amalgam for a palmier cookie (puff pastry) filling. Of run, I had to lift the entire unit to dump the mixture out.

Find out where the deformity is. The penknife can be replaced, the shaft cannot. If the shaft is deformed, I'd replace the unbroken unit. 12 years is a pretty good run for a food processor, unless it's a commercial or top-end ideal. Buy from Williams Sonoma, because they lifetime warranty everything, no matter how it breaks, nothing but keep your receipt.
