Faucet or pitcher water filter guarantees safe drinking tap water?
I decent moved into an apartment and the water is awful. When it first comes from the faucet, it tastes OK but smells like metal or rust, but then after leaving it out for a while, it tastes metallic. Would getting a faucet or water pitcher filter give me satisfactory drinking water? Should I start buying bottled water instead of a filter?

It's quite old pipes that is giving your water that metallic taste - not the water itself. So yes, I would buy bottled water.

I lack to compare the PUR water filter pitcher with the Britta one. Which filters out the most contaiminents?
I checked out PUR's website and looked at their filter pitcher. It claims to filter out 2 times the contaminants than Brita so... I guesswork you should stick to your PUR filter pitcher.

*how many gallons of water the filter can last
*taste
*and how much gunk the filter can filter (it should tell you on the box)
-when all of these numbers are compared, then you will recall which is better, until then, the answers from all of us don't and shouldn't matter, so test it out yourself, because my soup buds are not yours
